Warhawk Sailing employs the use of the self-propelled gantry crane from Italy's ASCOM for lifting vessels, completely avoiding the damages that can occur with traditional single-point cranes. Single-point cranes, due to their inability to spread the lifting straps wider than the yachts width, exert excessive force on the sides of the hull, leading to potential damage or structural issues. Many yachts manuals explicitly prohibit such lifting methods, emphasizing the need to avoid this scenario.
Furthermore, when lifting keel sailyachts with a single-point crane, there is a significant risk of collision with the mast due to the crane's inability to balance properly. The self-propelled gantry crane, especially when servicing keel sailyachts, offers advantages that other lifting methods cannot provide. This includes the ability to lift without the need for disassembling shrouds, eliminating concerns about potential damage to the keel and hull joints due to instability during placement, and preventing uneven stress on the hull and structure caused by misalignment during placement.
