It won the title of European Yacht of the Year in 2011. The Elan E6, a perfect Racer-Cruiser, is a collaboration among Elan Yachts, with many years of senior circumnavigation sailboat design experience, Humphreys Yacht Design, and Pininfarina Bentley Farina Design Center, renowned worldwide for designing numerous Ferrari sports cars.
With its unique shape designed by Pininfarina Bentley Farina Design, the latest hull structure design by Humphreys Yacht Design (HYD), and high-tech composite materials from Gurit, the Elan E6 is easy to handle, strong and sturdy, and has a highly aesthetic design. Its 11-ton weight is significantly lighter than other boats in its class, making its performance even more astonishing.
During sea trials in the northern Adriatic Sea, the E6 has exceeded Elan Yachts' initial performance and handling targets, giving birth to a sailboat yacht that truly changes the game in terms of cruising and racing performance. Despite not sacrificing long-haul comfort, the E6 is loaded with over a ton of optional cruising equipment and life gear, yet it exhibits astonishing maneuverability and responsive handling in various wind and sea conditions. It can achieve speeds of over 8 knots close-hauled in 12 knots of true wind. It can easily begin planing at over a dozen knots of wind and performs exceptionally well in light winds.
The E6 adopts the latest hull structure design, improving Humphreys Yacht Design's fourth-generation hull shape through CFD modeling and further enhancing it with Elan Yachts' renowned 3D vacuum infusion technology, providing a sturdier but significantly lighter hull. The dual rudders of the E6 provide directional stability, ensuring precise rudder efficiency even in strong winds, without the need for the extensive active sail adjustment and strenuous work typical of racing sailors in strong gusts.
The exterior design by Pininfarina Bentley Farina integrates the DNA of Bentley Farina and Elan, showcasing clean lines and a simple deck design through the design master's skillful hands. The interior design features light-colored oak with natural soft wood grain and a unique cabin entrance ladder design with the latest technology coating combined with matte black details, creating a highlight at the cabin entrance. The integrated furniture design in the cabin satisfies both living needs and comfort, with a focus on lightweight materials while ensuring both light weight and high durability. Regarding functional assembly, the Elan E6 features dual steering design and three sets of Harken winches, with a wide, smooth deck space for quick and unimpeded movement and operation during races.
